Australia
Australia is the sixth largest country in the world. It's about the same size as the 48 mainland states of the USA and 50 per cent larger than Europe, but has the lowest population density in the world - only two people per square kilometer. Australia boasts over 7,000 beaches - more than any other nation. The kangaroo is unique to Australia and one of our most easily recognized mammals. Australia also possesses five of the world’s top 100 golf courses, including world-renowned Royal Melbourne. Australia is becoming one of the premier golfing vacation destinations in he world.
From whacking a ball along an immaculate fairway on the sun-soaked Gold Coast to meeting the challenge of Melbourne's sand-belt courses, Australia provides an unmatched range of golfing opportunities. The country's best-known greens include Royal Pines and Sanctuary Cove in Queensland, Riverside Oaks and The Lakes in New South Wales, Huntingdale and Kingston Heath in Victoria and the Grange in South Australia. Kingston Heath in Melbourne, designed by Dr Alister Mackenzie, is one of the world's top courses, while in Sydney, the undulating links of the Peter Thomson-designed Camden Lakeside course remind many players of St Andrews, Gleneagles or Muirfield.
