Machrihanish Golf Club

Designed by Old Tom Morris, Machrihanish is one of the remotest golf courses of championship standard in the British Isles. Originally founded as a 10-hole course in 1876 by a group of local dignitaries, three years later four times Open Championship winner Old Tom Morris redesigned it. For some golfers it is a mystical test of every department of a golfer’s game but just a drive too far. True, it can be an expedition to get there overland but once standing on that daunting first tee it is worth every mile.
